Typically, the Yamato delivery person will come back to deliver the package in about 1 or 2 days, but you can totally take the initiative to reschedule with Yamato at a time that suits you. This article will guide you through 2 simple and quick ways to reschedule your delivery with the Yamato Kuroneko shipping company.
Reschedule Your Yamato Delivery by Phone
This is the method if you're confident in your basic Japanese listening and speaking skills.
Find the phone number: On the absent delivery notice slip, look for the section "Tantō dorai bā chokutsū" (Direct phone number of the responsible driver).
Contact: Call this phone number directly.
Request: Inform the driver of the parcel number (denpyō bangō) and the specific date and time you want to receive the delivery again.
Note: If the driver is busy driving or delivering, they might not pick up right away. You should try calling back later or switch to the second method, which is filling out the form online.
Reschedule Your Yamato Delivery Online via Website
Yamato's system allows you to register for redelivery online through their website, which is very convenient and doesn't require communicating in Japanese.
Step 1: Scan the QR Code
First, use your smartphone to scan the QR code on the back of the notice.
Step 2: Enter Your Personal Information
After scanning the QR code, Yamato's website will appear. If you already have an account, log in to skip entering personal information. If you don't have an account, fill in your personal details.
Step 3: Enter the Date and Time You Can Receive the Delivery
First, select the button 日時変更(対面・置き配).
Next, choose the date and time slot when you can receive the delivery. If you want to receive an email notification after completion, select the option 受付完了メールを受け取る.
Once you've selected everything, click on 次へ.
Step 4: Final Confirmation of Information
On the next screen, you'll see the confirmation page. Double-check that the information you've selected is correct, and if everything looks good, click on 確定 to complete the process.
After completing the registration, Yamato will deliver the package at the exact date and time you've scheduled. Remember to make sure you're home to receive it!
